Baker Street Tube Station

Baker Street Tube Station

Baker Street opened in 1863 and is one of the oldest London Underground tube stations. It has been listed as a grade II building. This photo is of the stations oldest platform. It is one of the original stations for the Metropolitan Railway, the world’s first underground railway.

The station has over 32 million visitors a year and has the most number of platforms on the London Unground network.

If you’re a movie buff, The excavation of Baker Street for the Underground can be seen in a scene of the 2011 film Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, set in 1891.
